Community Recycling Facilities

The Dublin Waste Management Plan has set a recycling rate target of 60% for the Region. There are 3 different types of community recycling facilities designed for everyday use in order to encourage recycling in Dublin. Below gives a brief description of the different facilities available to households.

Bring Banks

Bring Banks are an essential outlet for householders to recycle materials which often cannot be put in the household green bin collection such as glass and textiles. Bring bank facilities in the Region accept glass, textiles, plastics, cans, paper and card, composite packaging and bateries. The number of bring banks in the Dublin Region has increased by almost 8% from 321 in 2006 to 346 in 2007.
