Abandoned and Private Car Removal Services

The four local authorites offer services for the removal of abandoned and private cars.  The service to remove private cars is carried out for a small fee.  The removal and disposal of these vehicles is done in an environmentally appropriate manner.  All of the cars which are removed are sent to a metal recycling company where they are crushed and then recycled.

Dún Laoghaire/ Rathdown Co. Co. Car Removal Services

Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council provide a service to have your car removed. To print an application form for this service, please click here. South Dublin Co. Co. Car Removal Service

You may deposit your unwanted vehicle at an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF). The ATFs in the South Dublin County Council area are listed on it’s website http://www.sdcc.ie/. If dropping off the end-of-life vehicle (ELV) yourself please ensure that you get a certificate of destruction, or if you are having it collected please be sure that the haulier can show you a valid waste collection permit that allows them to collect end-of-life vehicles. If you suspect that they do not have a valid waste collection permit, take their vehicle registration details and report them to the Waste Enforcement Section on 01-4149000 . Vehicles collected illegally often end up dumped or burnt out and are not safely disposed of.

There is no fee for the disposal of an end of life vehicle, provided you can bring the vehicle to the centre yourself. If you wish your vehicle to be collected, there is a cost involved for collection. Call the facility directly to receive the cost of collection.

 

Dublin City Council End of Life Vehicle Facilities

Householders in the Dublin City Council region can bring end of life vehicles to the following facilities for recycling :

Fingal Co. Co. Car Removal Service

 

Householders in the Fingal County Council region can bring end of life vehicles to the following facilities for recycling:

The Council provides a service whereby members of the public can get an unwanted car collected for a fee of €100.
