Bulky Household Waste

Households generate a significant amount of household waste that is bulky in nature and cannot be accommodated in the weekly bin collection service.  Bulky waste is accepted in a variety of bring centres and recycling centres across the region.  To find the nearest facility to you that accepts bulky waste please click here and use the online Recyling Search Engines.

In addition Dublin City Council provide a separate bulky waste collection service to householders, details are provided below.

Dublin City Council Bulky Household Collection Service

Dublin City Council waste management services will introduce a new household bulky waste collection service in the North Central Area and South East Area from January 2007.

This new service will provide householders with the opportunity to have bulky household waste (furniture, kitchen units, old bicycles, radiators etc.) collected at the doorstep.  This is a pay-by-use service and will cost householders €75 which will cover collection and disposal costs.

FREE Trade

For an alternative method of dealing with bulky items which may still be of benefit to others why not check out FREE Trade.  The FREE Trade service enables members of the public to advertise unwanted items that are still in good quality and reusable, allowing the person offering the item a FREE disposal outlet and the person receiving the item a useful FREE item.

Since the service was launched in 2006 over 20,000 items have been found new homes through FREE Trade. Generally 40% of the items reused through FREE Trade consist of furniture while 10% of items FREE Traded categorised as household appliances and a further 10% of items categorised as electrical items.

So if you have just upgraded your dining room table or your sitting room suite why not find a home for the old ones of FREE Trade...
