Disruption to Black and Brown Bin collection services due to freezing weather.
Although collection crews will report to work to carry out a normal refuse collection in the coming days, some Fingal residents may not have their their black or brown bins collected due to severe and dangerous weather conditions making roads inaccessible for collection trucks.
Some Green Bin collections carried out by Greyhound Recycling on behalf of Fingal County Council may also be affected.
We cannot confirm if we can offer a rescheduled black or brown bin collection until weather conditions improve and apologise sincerely for the inconvenience this may cause during this long period of unprecedented bad weather.
All Refuse Freighters were deployed as usual on the Monday Routes and two extra freighters are operating in areas where black bin collections were missed last Thursday and Friday.
While road conditions are improving, some areas particularly in elevated locations are still difficult. (Greyhound, the Council’s Green Bin contractor, reported difficulties on the green bin collection routes in the Killiney Hill area this morning).
The Council regrets the continued inconvenience experienced by many customers over recent days who may not have had their bins collected as scheduled.
Difficulty in accessing certain routes due to weather conditions has slowed down the service, leaving crews in a ‘catch up’ situation across the County.
Customers whose bins have not been emptied as scheduled are advised to leave their bins outside and ready for collection. The Council would appreciate the continued patience of customers as road conditions return to normal.
Areas to receive a Green Bin collection tomorrow, Saturday the 16th of January are as follows:
- Churchtown Close
- Churchtown Road Lower
- St Columbanus Road / Place
- Saint Gall Gardens North / South
- Loreto Ave
- Loreto Park

- Loreto Row
- Loreto Crescent

The above will be collected during the course of the early shift and will be notified on our website and will forward details to 98FM
