South Dublin Pay as you go bin system

South Dublin County Council are rolling out their new Pay as you go bin system. Customers will no longer need to be running down to the shops at the last minute to buy bin tags as everything will be taken care of with one scan of your bin!

Here's how it will work:

Last month South Dublin residents received an information pack about the new system. Residents were asked to place the enclosed label, with a unique barcode onto their black bins. A team of people were on hand to register the bins to customers addresses.

At the moment an advanced credit account is currently being set up by South Dublin for each customer and their black bin. Individuals will be asked to deposit money into these accounts and once the account has sufficient credit, the refuse truck will come around on the day of collection and pick up your bin.

South Dublin County Council hope to have the system up and running by the end of the year.

If you haven't yet registered your bin you can contact South Dublin County Council on 4149000
