O2 Recycling Scheme

O2  has been operating a handset-recycling scheme called Fonebak since 2004. Fonebak offers customers the chance to recycle their old mobile phones and feel safe in the knowledge that they are not damaging the environment. All phones are broken down and parts are recycled and reused in other markets. There are Fonebak recycling bins in most O2 retails stores throughout the Region.

The revenues generated through this scheme support An Coillte National Tree Week and the plantation of 15,000 trees throughout Ireland and the international charity Rainforest Concern.
