Litter Awareness Campaign in Dublin City

A new anti-litter campaign to tackle the main causes of litter on the streets of Dublin will run from 4th to the 29th of August. The campaign has been set up by Dublin City Council but is also funded by the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government and Bord Failte.

Cigarette butts, chewing gum and fast food account for 75% of the litter on the streets of the capital.

The campaign, entitled Nobody Wants Your Litter. Bin It, aims to heighten awareness of litter blackspots around the city.

During the campaign, giant arrows will appear at cigarette, gum and fast food litter black spots such as fast food outlets, pubs, convenience stores and pedestrian streets around Dublin.

These giant arrows will be used to point to litter on the street and raise awareness among the passing public.
