FREE Trade is Honoured with a Taoiseach Award

Dublin City Council Manager Mr. John Tierney is presented with a Taoiseach Award for the FREE Trade Service from An Taoiseach, Mr. Bertie Ahern T.D.

April 25th 2008:

On the 18th April 2008 the FREE Trade Service, which is hosted on DublinWaste.ie,  received a Taoiseach’s Public Service Excellence Award in Dublin Castle.

The presentation of the award was made to Mr. John Tierney, City Manager, Dublin City Council who accepted the award on behalf of the four Dublin Local Authorities from An Taoiseach, Mr. Bertie Ahern, T.D.

The award is the highest accolade for a public sector project and is a great achievement for the Dublin local authorities and all involved in the website.

FREE Trade was one of 20 winning projects from over 180 entries and follows on from DublinWaste.ie's success last November in winning a Golden Spider Award for Best Public Sector Website.

FREE Trade continues to facilitate reuse in Dublin on a daily basis and the success story reached another milestone this week when the number of items reused through the site officially passed the 10,000 mark.

Congratulations to all the Dublin Local Authorities who continue to fund the website and all the members of the DublinWaste.ie  team.

A supplement on the Taoiseach Awards is published today in the Irish Independent.
