Due to the popularity of FREE Trade on DublinWaste.ie we encourage all our users posting items to reserve items when you have someone to take the item.

Reserving your item simply takes the item off the live FREE Trade item lists while retaining the item in your account in case you may want to re-post the item back onto FREE Trade sometime in the future.

Reserving an item is easy, just follow these steps:

1) - Log into your user account and click on "Manage Items" in "Your Control Panel" box. After clicking on "Manage Items" the webpage will refresh to display the following.



2) Click on the "Close Item" icon next to the item you wish to reserve. This will remove the item off the FREE Trade lists. The item is still attached to your account and can be viewed at any time.  The item will remain attached to your account for 60 days before being deleted automatically.

3) if you wish to view your items details first and then close off the item, click on the item name in blue, i.e. "4 seater sofa", and the page should refresh to display the item details page as below.

4) After reviewing your items details, you can then close off the item by selecting "Close" from the drop down menu in the status section as highlighted above.

Remember to click "Save" at the bottom of the item details page to make sure any changes you have made are implemented!

5) Each time you close or delete an item on FREE Trade the pop up box as shown below will appear. This box is very important for us, as it lets us know what happened to your item. Reas the options and select the one relevant to you.
