Dublin City Council Door to Door Collection Charges 2009


Dublin City Council household waste charges were revised in 2008. The Local Authority has no plans to implement any changes to household waste charges for 2009. The table below outlines the charges that are currently in place for householders.  

Householder bills are issued quarterly and charges are broken down accordingly.

The standing charge is a mandatory annual charge that all householders are required to pay.

The charge per collection is only charged when your bin is collected and emptied.

Charges for Tagged Bins in 2009

Household waste bin tags increased in price in 2008 and now cost €2.90. There has been no change in the cost of tags for 2009. Bin Tags can be purchased directly from the City Council at the Civic Offices in Wood Quay, Post Offices throughout Dublin and in many retail shops in the City displaying the Postpoint symbol.

The table below gives the annual bin charge cost for various scenarios relating to how many bags and how often a household may present waste for collection throughout the year.

Charges for Apartments in 2009

Waste Charges that were implemented in 2008 for Eurobins at apartments are outlined below.

In Private Apartments/Flats it is the responsibility of the landlord or management company to ensure that the waste charges are paid and that bins are tagged.  Eurobins can be purchased from Customer Services Centre, Civic Offices Wood Quay, Dublin 8.

In City Council Apartments/Flats the tenants are responsible for payment of their own waste charges.  The charge will be based on the number of collections of the Eurobins with the charge based on  €30 per Eurobin collection. Tenants should contact the housing department for details on their own complex.

Eurobin labels are sold in Customer Services Centre, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, D.8. Tel 2221000. Labels are also sold at Civic Offices. You can also purchase them at Post Offices throughout Dublin and in many retail shops in the City dispalying the Postpoint symbol.

Waiver Scheme 2009

Waivers will be available for households whose sole income is from social welfare or where the household income falls below the income tax threshold.  Hardship cases are assessed on an individual basis.
