2009 - Quarter 3 in review


On the 27th June 2009 WEEE Ireland in conjunction with Dell Ireland and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council hosted a FREE WEEE Collection Day.

Many free WEEE Collection days took place during 2009 ensuring that householders, businesses and communities have every opportunity to recycle their electrical goods. To all involved in providing and organising these collection well done & thank you!


August 2009 saw FREE Trade smash yet another record when over 1,000 items were FREE Traded, the highest number EVER FREE Traded in one month on the site!Download "Putting the lid on waste" now!!

The Festival of World Cultures was held in Dún Laoghaire on 29th & 30th August 2009.

The DublinWaste.ie team were on hand in the Cool Earth Exhibition giving demonstrations on how to use the website.

Also launched at the Cool Earth Exhibition was the DublinWaste.ie Waste Prevention Leaflet
'Putting the Lid on Waste'






The DublinWaste.ie team attended the launch of Askaboutireland.ie, the new ENFO environmental information service.


In September 2009 the benefits of FREE Trade as a valuable community resource was highlighted through Cheeky Monkeys.

Cheeky monkeys is a parent, baby and toddler group which meets in the Balbriggan area on Saturday mornings. The group have successfully used FREE Trade to source a number of items!
